Ebrima Hydara (CEO)
Ebrima Hydara is a Gambian citizen living in Brikiama Darul Khairi kombo central. He is personally known to us as the project proprietor and constructor of Sheikh Muhammad Khairi Institute for Quranic Memorization and Islamic Studies. From an early age Mr. Hydara has always had a knack for empowering people through Islamic studies. Attending intensive Islamic Courses from the age of 5, Ebrima Iearned the importance of religion and h ow it plays a vital role in his life as well as the people around him. His knowledge and and commitment to helping the kids in his village Spear headed and created KNOWLEDGE IS LIGHT FOUNDATION.

 

 


Mariama Janneh (Director of Finance)
Mariama is a Native of Gambia as well as a Citizen of USA where she currently resides. Mariama is a career driven individual and wants to extend her expertise in the medical field to her native land and very active in the African community in Atlanta. Dr Janneh holds a MSN and PHD in Nursing. She is a certified board Nurse in Atlanta,GA with more than 28 years of experience. Mariama will be in Charge of the Schools Clinic and its daily operations. Moreover Mariama will use her nursing and managerial skills to train locals who desire to become nurses. Also she is a member of the AMERICAN RED CROSS ASSOCIATION AND DOCTORS without borders.

 

 


Adama Mballow (Vice Chairperson)
Adama Mballow is an educator and strongly believes in the quote “education is the key to success.” Ms. Mballow is a native of USA and has extensive experience in the education sector. She brings educational development and logistics to the team.No stranger to hard work, Ms. Mballow graduated from an elite university, Loyola University New Orleans, where she earned a BA in Sociology and currently lectures internationally. Ms. Mballow also has experience in the non-profit sector, previously working for AmeriCorp, where she was a Corp member and project coordinator. Ms. Mballow enjoys volunteering and making an impact in the lives of low income families. Ms. Mballow has served a total of 1,709 hours of community service and has been recognized for her hard work and accomplishments. She’s a proud Gambian American who plans on devoting her services to improving the educational system and quality of the life in Africa.

 



Mr. Sakou Ceesay (Secratary)
Mr. Sakou joins the team as a former businessman and will use his business expertise to help develop the foundation. Mr. Sakou spent his early adolescent years doing a lot of charitable work in the Gambia, which included sponsoring orphans and assisting single mothers raise their kids. He still strives to do charitable work in the United States. The “United Way Program” of Atlanta is an organization which helps needy children in the greater Atlanta area, and Mr. Ceesay is a proud member of this group. Creating a future for those in need and helping them to thrive in their communities bring him gratification and his perseverance will help elevate KNOWLEDGE IS LIGHT FOUNDATION to the next level.
